As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

WELCOME TO EMBRACING MENTAL HEALTH

The holistic approach to becoming healthy, encompasses both mind and body. In order to live our best life, we all need to evaluate our mental health. Mental Illness continues to be misunderstood and underserved in our country.  However, more and more, our society is embracing mental health services in search of resources and supports to address the dysfunction that impacts our everyday lives.

For years , the church was our only refuge to address the pains that haunted us.  The church continues to be a significant foundation of faith based support.  However it is no longer taboo to seek professional support outside of the church for healing and recovery of trauma experienced at different points in our lives.

Establishing a connection with your therapist is very important to the success of  your treatment.  Individuals should speak with several providers in their search of a therapist and ask questions prior to deciding on a provider.

In our quest to live our best life, we need to feel confident in our ability to express our needs and find our voice.  We must heal and recover from the pains and sorrows impacting us.  Sometimes, we are unaware of the burdens that we continue to carry on a daily basis.  Unresolved painful experiences influence current behaviors, actions and decisions.

There is no shame in needing help, the shame is in not asking for the help you need!
